Our unique program offers six months of customized services, including…

  • INTAKE AND ASSESSMENT
Individuals referred for services complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment that includes gambling, family, social, financial, and roll performance issues.  Individuals also complete the South Oaks Gambling Screen and the Gambling System Assessment Screen, which are administered by licensed, independent gambling counselors registered with the Office of Problem Gambling.

  • GROUP COUNSELING
Sessions are conducted using a group curriculum designed specifically for persons who gamble compulsively.  Topics include: symptoms of compulsive gambling, gamblers irrational thinking processes, life skills, stages of recovery, and relapse prevention, among others.  Process groups focus on family, guilt, shame, and other topics that allow participants to explore the impact of gambling on their social support networks.  Clients are also given weekly writing assignments, which are discussed at every session.

  • INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY COUNSELING
Sessions are scheduled with individuals and their families as needed to enhance treatment progress.  These sessions focus on identified issues that complicate or interfere with a client's efforts to change.
